Leaving the server for good.

Post  Minimeat on Wed Oct 19, 2011 11:32 pm

I've come to the conclusion that pandorawow is nothing but a headache anymore and it's time to find a new server. I'll prolly just end up going back to Maniaks because i still have my old warrior etc. My reasons for leaving this server are many but the main reasons is the lack of consideration of people, along with the greedy self center attitude many of the people here have. Not to mention the obsession of joining a 10man icc raid. No one here wants to enjoy the actual game outside of pvp and weekly quests/ICC. The final straw was the result of the icc raid attempt last weekend when i tried to make a guild run. Then when the horde werent being invited they decided to be childish and gank everyone in the run. Not to mention i had people whining about the pvp gear rule that i implemented and no up until the raid point said anything about it. Raiding is PVE. Not that ranting will change anything. I'll just end this with the server is stagnant and Ragnul is full of empty promises. Anyone wanting to keep contact with me can add me to msn. ploughe86@hotmail.com.

Well, I've been trying to play every chance I get and those chances have been fewer and fewer as of late. It's hard for me to gauge where everyone else is on the issue but I know that I have been feeling like this server has been a bit rediculous for a while now and it doesn't seem to get the attention to improvement it needs at all. I mean, how long have we been on this server and now we're back to square one (speaking of quality and reliability of improvements), when we first moved...if not worse off because of the lack of developement. Concerning the guild...we have been through alot of changes, some better and some for the worse. Aside from guild, server and faction change we have had rule changes and adaptations that, at times, it does not seem most are willing to adapt to themselves. I think Lalena would agree that a big reason for his stepping down to Officer was to get away from the bicker delegation and rule enforcement. I can see how tiring it must be to deal with those sorts of things on a constant basis. It is a risk when adding more members, that you lose the "Golden Team" that made the guild so special, either because of lack of cooperation or lack of commons sense among the people behind the toons we add to our guild. I know I make some real noob mistakes sometimes, either out of the excitement of getting to play for a bit or sheer lack of an attention span due to the two demon children I have, but I still make an effort to be a part of the team...something you can't really find among every single person...I hope you choose to give us a heads up on your goals, and inform us if you prefer our company Razz

Im prolly gonna hang around wowmaniak since i have characters there. Hell who knows, i might make meat on alliance again and go from there. Anything is better than dealing with pandora atm.

Well I will certainly be a little annoyed to leave the progress I've made behind, but if the chaos og's in the enlightened are willing to trade back over to the old server I will be more than happy to go, but I feel word about just leaving anyone behind. There is definitely alot more to look forward to for pve especially on maniak, but I have catching up to do there... We shall see what happens I suppose...between u and lal, I wouldn't want to have to choose if we could all just go together... I do wish you had talked with us more before leaving, and trust, I do understand your frustration, but who knows, we may have decided to go as a guild, together, anyway.

I'll follow meat wherever he goes. If he isn't going to play on Pandora then I feel that I have little reason to stay either. As Pandorin eloquently put it, "I feel like we're cheating ourselves sometimes by staying on this one. It's nearly obvious sometimes, the lack of effort being put into improving this server " ... Not just by Mahoney and his "developers" but also by many of the players' attitudes towards other people. A large proportion of players refuse to learn how to work as a team and even more seem to refuse to learn how to get along with others to begin with, or at least learn how to use /ignore instead of antagonizing each other for weeks on end. It's a soap opera every day. It's no wonder the population has been steadily shrinking, never growing. Meat and I have logged onto several different servers recently and so far PandoraWow is the sorriest one.

i really dont know what to be doing, the only people left on this server from the core guys is me, pando and killyou. everyone has either quit wow or quit pandora for one reason or another.. I suppose this is the downside to having donated, u feel at a lose for time and money put into an account ( or 2 in mycase ). But there aint really been much happening as far as fixes goes, they fix one issue on this update and they bug something that was actually fixed on the last update, meaning they have to redo the same issues over and over again. Then we have the people on the server, 60% are A'holes. nuf said there. the updise to maniak is that they have alot more pvp and pve, shud it be icc, os or naxx, they are always running it. thats the upside to having a higher population.

anyway nuf bout server, realy will miss u guys but i have msn and will keep in touch. prob log maniak from time to time to say hi.

Unless everyone is willing to commit to a guild move, I'm not sure that I can commit to it...as little time as I have to play and as much time that I have put into my toons (6 lvl80's with every profession maxed between them and gear that's been earned) I'm not sure I can just abandon the effort put in so easily. I think we should really discuss, as a guild, what needs to be done and make it very clear to ragnul and whoever else is involved in development what we NEED from the server in order to feel like we are important enough to work for. It would be ridiculous if we could not have that kind of communication with the one person who SHOULD care wether we leave our stay.

I just started playing on that AstralWoW server Meat was talking about but I kind of hate it because I get disconnected from the server a lot and it has to keep downloading data from the server for some reason. Never had to do that in Pandora.. so idk what that's about. I might try to find another Cata server with some higher rates or something.

The dc'ing has gotten better than what it was. If you can get past the dc'ing the server itself is good. it's the most stable cata server atm at low rates and i wanna actually enjoy wow instead of rushing to the end game and getting bored right away. Also what's your characters name on astral o.o?

ye i had same issues as cali, at times i cudn even get logged onto the server. names lalena (ofc) and frostitude both frost mages, one horde one alliance, im not really liking the cross faction guilds either, totally pointless, i dont like xfaction raids either, how the hell when u reach lvl 80 are u ment to hold raids on bigger cities, the whole server alli and horde wud know about it, totally takes the surprise element out of it..... what yur chars there called meat

Worgen Warrior- Lycandope
Worgen Dk-Rotfur
Tauren Shaman- Potroast

Hell ppl raid SW and Org all the time. Most high levels dont even intervene. They are lvling/getting gear lol. Also server stability is alot better. Dc's are becoming less and less also.

I am tempted to play around w/ this cat server....not sure....sounds interesting for sure, but i'm checking out this forum right now because our server is currently down...i know webshop was going to be changed, but it seems they must be updating the server itself for it not to be "up and running," so to speak. I know we have a new guy on the role call as far as developement goes....but we'll see how that goes i guess. I am still hopeful. I do love pre-cat for all it is, but i do get curious about new stuffs from time to time, usually getting feedback from my friend mike who plays bliz server...definately fancy, but i think i would miss my talent trees too much, lol.

In response to La...

it should be noted that Astral is a PvE server and not a PvP server like Pandora, so the mentality is going to be different. The whole of Alliance or Horde being warned that their cities are being attacked doesn't matter because most don't care and won't be involved anyway. You can't PvP in the world unless you flag yourself for PvP.

I believe battlegrounds are still Alli vs Horde, though. And I know battlegrounds for every level-set are done frequently, from 15 all the way to 85.

... Besides did you know that you can just "/join worlddefense" and you will be notified that your faction's cities are being attacked, no matter where you are? A 'surprise attack' is only good for maybe the 15 seconds it takes to hearthstone and portal to the city, if that.
